True South Communities is a high end Land Development and Real Estate company located in historic Aiken, South Carolina. We are owned and operated by Mr. Jerry Holmes.
Jerry Holmes and Holmes Timber Company, Inc. and its affiliates are a second generation family owned business. The current President and owner is Mr. Jerry M. Holmes (we affectionately refer to him as Mr. Holmes). Along with raising two sons, two daughters, and many employees, Mr. Holmes has served on the board of several financial institutions as well as the South Carolina Forestry Association, and the Palmetto Agri-business Council. He has been the sole owner of Holmes Timber Company, Inc. since 1990. Prior to this his brothers and father were involved in the company, which was started in the mid 1940’s by his father, Mr. Harvey Holmes. Jerry started Atlantic Coast Properties in the late 1980s to service retail homesite properties to customers in South Carolina. He has also been a development partner in several high-end partnerships with other friends that have sold out coastal and mountain properties in SC and NC. In his spare time, Jerry will often be found saddling his favorite horse, or on a long carriage ride through the streets of downtown Aiken.
